I can't belive this! No reservations any more?? Ever? Not even phone or by mail? What a disaster waiting to happen. What about people who drive 4-5+ hrs to get there.. in hopes of getting one small camp, but end up having to pay for a much larger group site? Or every camp being full? I love the informative web site & I thought new system was working so well for visitors. I would hate to see it go back to the 'old ways' of unorganized unpredictable camp assigning. Truly disappointed!
You know I just realized that Arturo Campo 1 no longer accepts reservations. I am sure sorry to see that, since it is a fairly long drive down there not to know if there is a tub in paradise to soak in. We just got back from there this week and it was really nice. The temps were great mid 40's at nite and high 60's day time. Campo 1 was full and campo 3 was almost full. Across the canyon was not. we hiked up to the first big falls, with the pool at the bottom. You need to take the route into the canyon and then hike up the bottom of the canyon to get there. The pool at the bottom of the falls is large. For getting there, the dry lake bed is still the route of choice it is so much easier on the body. I have pictures posted here........ http://community.webshots.com/album/28582168VvLILWpDWJ there are two albums from this trip and another from a previous trip. The two latest albums have wallpaper quality pics. We certainly will be going back......
I was just wondering what the weather is like this time of year in the canyon. I have a trip planned the first week of the new year. Does anyone have any info? http://community.webshots.com/album/16327464sklyocaKed the link is to some pictures I took the last time, we were there.
this is to anybody that can colaborate on the tale of the baja rider?.has anyone seen this "ghost" who is this guy is he for reals or somebody made the story up. please I wpould like to know.
Just returned home from Guadalupe (2 times now). Soooo Beautiful!! My nephew,Gurl friend and My 85yr. Mom. She Majorly loved it there. We did some cutting and stacking of palm fromms for repair of their thatched shelters. Feels freat to exercise those arms and the too (hiking). Slide into the hot tub and it. WOW !!!! Many more of my Family and I of course, will be going up soon for the Full Moon.

I just want to tell anyone looking into camping at Guadalupe Canyon that it’s the most wonderful place with in a few hours driving distance you could ever go. I just got back from going for three days with my best friend and a group of very fun people. The campsites are clean and very private. We took a nice hike to go see the natural pools in the mountains. They were amazing and the hike was refreshing and not that challenging. If you have the time you should go see the Indian rock art. I can’t wait to go back to this awesome place
Wow, this looks like a really cool place to visit even if it is hot. Been to hot springs before but this one looks sweet.
Probabaly, I'll return one day to see all my family my grandpa Eduardo Loya and my father Jesus Loya would love to be there again sharing good memories together in that paradise!

Aloha, I was at the Hot Springs in July and it was like driving to the Pot of Gold at the end of the rainbow! SPECTACULAR! There was plenty enough shade from the heat and you can cool down your hot tub. Hope the rode stays as is. My 89 ford Van had no problems. Slow and sure. I plan to be there again very soon for ashort stay
Wow, can't wait to visit. Looks like paradise. Guess I will wait until the desert temperatures dip a bit.

The best road to get the cañon de guadalupe is KM 24 Tijuana-Mexicali Road, The road is know as Laguna Salada, you can drive at 65 miles/hr and estimated time to get the place is 1.5 hrs. The place is wonderful!, great!, the nice people, excellent for spent a weekend and relief the stress. rated *****
It was a really refreshing experience. What a wonderful change when you live in desert long time... Don't hesitate and visit this unusual place. But avoid a summer period if possible. Te hot weather could be unbearable even at night.
Just checking in to see how this season is shaping up.
Can't wait to visit this place

I've been to 13 countries and among my journies, Canyon De Guadalupe is one of the most spectacular places to visit. I was so enchanted by it's beauty and seclusivness (is that a word?) that I dream of going back again and again.
ES L;A TERCERA VEZ QUE VOY I NO ME CANSO DE ADMIRAR ESTA MARAVILA DE LUGAR .

Comments:Keep the road rough it will deter those that would rather spend time in Cabo. I'll surely stop by the next time a SCORE race takes Laguna Salada. We always pre-run the course and this place looks like a pefect place to camp out after spending a few 100 miles on the Baja roads.

Comments:5/22/01: Just got back from Guadalupe. We had a very nice time, relaxing and hicking. We stayed at San Marcos (our private Idaho). The cold waterfalls during the day felt good/envigorating and the thousands of stars in the sky above our warm pool felt absolutely awesome. A good steak over the fire and a chosen bottle of wine for dinner is a must! Thanks for having us Guadalupe, can't wait to see you again! Love, Patricia. :)

Comments:One of us is 53 and the other 17. We both had a wonderful time and would spend longer on the next trip. We also would want to learn some Spanish before then, though Arturo's family was very helpful to non-Spanish speakers! Because of the language barrier, we were never sure which were Arturo's campsites and which Rob's. And what were the ones on the other SW(?) side of the canyon? Also we were not sure that the restaurant was really open (at this time of year? Friday at 6-ish pm?). Although they got some quesadillas together for us, it seemed as though they were not expecting that the restaurant would be open. A little more information about things like this would be helpful prior to arrival. Others might want to know what kinds of things are and are not available in the store, too.

Comments:No need for alarm. From what I heard the kid (13 y/o) was there with his family and had got himself in trouble with the parents. So he took off mad and got himself lost. So have a great time, don't worry and don't let your kids hike off to far unless they have experience in finding their way back. Also the weather is getting pretty warm down there so have plenty of water to drink, especially if you go hiking... WB

Comments:My love affair with Guadalupe began in Aug.of l974...and it only gets more passionate! Back then there was only one hot tub and one large pool...so the accommodations have greatly expanded and improved---but all the natural beauty is still waiting for you to experience! Rob and all the other family members have really been working their tails off the last few years...infact when I was there in Oct.'00 they we working harder than ever. I wish to acknowledge each and every person that keeps the canyon available and even more usable and accessable. Thank you and keep up the great job!!! Guadalupe is my most favorite place on earth to r&r and feel whole again! And the ability to make reservations is wonderful. I can recall many trips--after the challenging drive, finding not one spot available to set up camp. Also, it proves to be a safe place in Mexico--no more guns allowed, fires are controlled (over the years I've seen many bad fires wipe out large parts of the campground--infact one New Years a dangerous fire drove everyone out, running for our lives!), and even loud music is discouraged--3 cheers!!! To experience the canyon is a must for all--don't hesitate to go, you'll love it!

Comments:It was a great time. My wife and I went to the canyon last weekend (fri, sat, sun). It was hot the day temps were in the low 100's and the nites were 70's to high 60's we stayed at El Mirador and the campsite has lots of privacy, so you can have a really good time! We met Arturo and I speak about as much spanish as he does english, it was a great time The water was really nice warm and clean. The view is incredably, the jagged peak at the head of the canyon a roll of file in itself. The view of the desert, Laguna salada was real nice. The palapa was nice it had a concret floor which is where we stayed. Did not put up a tent. Just put the air matress down. there was a nice breeze most of the day, with very few bugs.We are going to check into going down this winter, possible feb. or march. I would definetly takt the dry lake bed road over the dirt road. We tried both went in on the dirt road and back on the lake bed the lake bed is much smoother and faster with lots of signs to "canyon de guadalupe", you can not get lost. They have flush toilets with hot water!!! We tried going down through Mexically and came back through tecate, next time I will go through tecate both directions I will post more later. Dick

Comments:For anyone who is planning to visit the caynon for the first time: YOU'RE GONNA ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! At least we did! It was my first time out there and it certainly was not what I was expecting--because I'm very familiar w/ the desert around that area. Just be prepared to take plenty of water, your fave drinks, lots of sunblock (I learned my lesson), sneakers/hicking shoes a camera, and leave all your stress behind. There were 4 of us that went and not only did we have an awesome time, but we also saw, at very close range, a couple of mountain rams...beautiful creatures. Unfortunately, we had run out of film...have fun everyone!

Comments:I would like to go with my family in August 2000. This would be our first camping - ever. We drive a Ford F150, but it is not 4 wheel drive, would I have a problem getting there due to the road conditions? My kids are pre-teens, would this place be appropriate for them? What gear should I take with me? Thank you in advance for any feedback.

Comments:Three visits in 8 months and the place gets better. The drive is murder on your shocks but worth it. Crank up your stereo, hit the gas, avoid the mexican soldiers, and swig cold bud-lites. Try floating candles in the hot tubs.

Comments:The best place on Earth to R&R...The air soo clean you can feel it.. the night skies so clear you can see the Milky Way..the water so warm and sensual you never want to get out of the tub.. and the atmosphere so inviting you leave with a feeling you will be back...If you are looking for a vacation where you really relax and renew you will love this place.. Three thumbs up to you Rob for the improvements, too.

Comments:Roberto, thank you again for another memorable experience at CaÒÛn de Guadalupe. The Camping Bares had a great time over Presidents' Day weekend, soaking in the hot pools, hiking in the canyon, and hanging out in camp. I really liked Rosina's desayunos Mexicanos, which I had every day. The El Sol palapa and hot tub were incredible! I drove on the lakebed road for the first time. It was smooth as silk. I wish I had tried it a long time ago. (Junction on Mex. Hwy 2, 2.6 miles east of k28 graded road.)

Comments:This the coolest, most fun, and most remote place on earth. The drive in is a drive you will never forget. The sharp turns, rocky ground, and lack of another human for 90 miles make it a real trip. Anyone with a 4wd vehicle is required to make the journey.

Comments:WOW!! We went over New Years '99-'00 and it was the most perfect, secluded, off-the-beaten-path, memorable holiday ever. We stayed in La Jolla A and we couldn't have been more pleased with the entire stay. The tacos at the cantina were the best we've ever tasted! And the stars were the brightest we've ever seen! I could go on and on... when we get married, we're going to take our families down to the Guadalupe Canyons Hot Springs and celebrate in relaxing, calm, rustic style!!

Comments:Okay folks, the new GUESTBOOK is finally up & we wont be relying on unpredictable Lycos for our entries any longer. It will soon look as cool as the rest of the site, just give me some free time. The hot season is almost over!! I can't wait to go relax doen in Guadalupe. Hope you all can get out to "the Canyon" soon. The new toll road is now open between Tecate & La Rumarosa. It makes the drive well worthh it now-a-days.

Comments:Ola Roberto, We linked from the Sorenson's teardrop trailer site. Yours is a great site! And a great setting in Baja. Definately in our schedule when we go out to visit my brother in San Diego this winter. Question: we are vintage Airstreamers, can we tow our 1961 sixteen foot overall Bambi model into your camp with our 4WD F-150, without problem? Of particular concern is high-centering, only six inches bottom clearance on the trailer. Regards, Gary and Sandi
